Presentation
The SENSE-XR project is an innovative initiative to enhance safety in high-risk manufacturing environments by leveraging extended reality (XR) technology and artificial intelligence (AI). It aims to provide operators with real-time, context-aware safety notifications through mobile devices and head-mounted displays (HMDs). Integrating with the MASTER-XR platform, SENSE-XR offers dynamic alerts, hazard warnings, and personalised escape routes, ensuring operators are always informed of potential dangers. SENSE-XR aims to boost safety awareness and increase productivity by streamlining emergency responses and reducing accident rates.
Human Opsis, the demonstrator of the project, is a tech SME based in Greece with experience in immersive technologies and research and development projects. Human Opsis is a multidisciplinary team that brings blended expertise and innovative capacity to SENSE-XR. Their commitment to integrating advanced digital solutions into practical safety applications emphasizes their key role in driving the project toward making XR manufacturing environments safer and more efficient.
Technology
The SENSE-XR project is human-centric, having development phases that focus on creating XR visualisations and interactions that are easy to understand, even under stressful conditions. SENSE-XR employs a strong AI-driven mechanism to analyse real-time data, enabling the system to generate tailored safety information based on each manufacturing site’s specific layout and evolving risks.
- Implementation timeline that includes design, integration, and comprehensive evaluation stages.
- Aims to demonstrate its value in operational environments and research venues.
