Wearable full-body solution for Augmented human-robot interaction in Virtual Environments

The WAVE project aims to introduce an innovative multimodal system for human-robot interaction in virtual environments, utilizing IMU-based wearable devices and haptic gloves. This approach enables a customizable, natural and dynamic interaction, significantly enhancing the collaborative training experience in XR and promoting trust and safety between users and robots.

Technology

Three main technological modules will be developed: i) Interactive software for customisable virtual reality scenarios and a virtual simulation system that can be used via wearable visors and sensors; ii) Dedicated modules for natural and safe interaction with robotic systems within the virtual training environment; iii) Sensorised clothing to enable natural and precise interaction with the virtual scenario and the robot.
