The eye tracking technology of MASTER is exhibited at the DFKI (German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence) conference

On Wednesday, 8 November 2023, the Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI) AI Day 2023 took place at DFKI’s Permisses in Saarbrücken. The DFKI is one of the world’s largest nonprofit contract research institutes for technology based on artificial intelligence (AI) methods. An all-day event program presented the current state of research and the application potential of AI technologies in production, administration, agriculture, medicine, education, as well as in environmental and climate protection. The participants could take part of live system demonstrations and numerous exhibits.

Our partner Michael Barz of the DFKI, was present and representing MASTER. During the event the eye tracking technology was demonstrated. Visitors were encouraged to try out the headsets under supervision of experts. They were not disappointed!

The headset analyses where the wearer is looking and matches the position with virtual and real objects. The presented technology can reveal where and for how long users spend their valuable visual attention and enable real-time adaptive user interfaces. This technology could potentially find usage in various applications. Within the MASTER project the eye tracking application is intended to be applied in the training of industrial workers in manufacturing.

In addition, the German TV channel ZDF was there and interviewed Michael. Below you can see a sneak peak from behind the scenes.
