VTBM Station

XR-Based Ergonomics Training for Tire Manufacturing

The VTBM Station project utilizes Extended Reality (XR) to revolutionise ergonomics and occupational safety training in the tire manufacturing industry. Designed for Brisa’s production facilities, the project addresses key challenges, including improper posture, repetitive movements, and insufficient awareness of workplace hazards.

Technology

By leveraging a hybrid XR environment, the system provides immersive and interactive training. Employees interact with:

allowing them to practice safe procedures in a risk-free setting.

Wearable motion-tracking sensors offer real-time feedback on postures and movements, promoting ergonomic safety and reducing injury risks.

The project employs advanced VR platforms, such as VIROO, integrating Unity-based simulation development for customized, scenario-driven training modules. These modules cover various occupational hazards, from handling hot knives to lifting heavy objects, ensuring tailored learning experiences for all skill levels. This innovation improves employee safety, enhances retention through realistic simulations, and reduces occupational diseases by at least 10% to 25% across key risk areas.
